Icelandic Symphony Orchestra conducted by Daníel Bjarnason

Alongside the release of a new version of A Model of the Universe ( from The Theory of Everything) by Jóhann Jóhannsson the yellow label compiled a special compilation – Elegy for Lost Time - featuring melancholic favorites from his broad body of works and film scores.

The double Oscar-nominated and multi-award-winning Icelandic composer Jóhann Jóhannsson (1969-2018), known for his film scores for 'Arrival', 'Sicario', or 'The Theory of Everything', was renowned for his innovative and unique blend of classical and electronic elements. With his original, profound, and moving works for film and stage, he achieved worldwide fame and is considered one of the most celebrated film composers of the last decade.

The new album 'A Prayer to The Dynamo' includes two suites compiled by the composer himself from his soundtracks for 'The Theory of Everything' and 'Sicario', both of which were Oscar-nominated and an array of other awards, with the former winning the Golden Globe for best original score. No longer tied to the narrative demands of a film, Jóhannsson arranged his suites based on purely musical decisions.
