Dear Classical Wisdom Reader,
What makes a good leader?
Even today, it’s a question that has many different answers depending on who you ask.
So this week, we’ve been looking at some of the different kinds of leaders of the ancient world: statesmen and tyrants. It turns out, the line between them is more blurry than you would think! We also took a look at the life of the Jewish queen, Salome Alexandra.
Plus, for our Members, we have an exclusive article looking at the spirituality of Seneca. What did this icon of Stoicism truly believe?
Meanwhile, over at Classical Wisdom Kids, we have fun and games based around the myth of Romulus and Remus.
You can check it all out just below…
Finally, we had a little bit of fun with an April Fools’ Day article about the origins of extra virgin olive oil. As the Italian philosopher Giordano Bruno would say, ‘se non è vero, è ben trovato,’ (‘even if it’s not true, it’s a good story’).
