Deutsche Grammophon is delighted to announce the exclusive signing of Julius Asal. The 26-year-old pianist, hailed by Klassik Heute for the “elemental energies” he brings to his playing and his “phenomenal gift for subtle mood changes”, has enchanted audiences and critics alike with his musical sensitivity and poetic expression. Asal is also blessed with a rare talent for programme curation and the ability to improvise in an astonishing variety of styles.
Due to illness, the pianist spontaneously stepped in for another artist at the Yellow Lounge 2023, where he performed Scarlatti, Debussy, Scriabin, Rachmaninov and his own improvisations.
